Scottish Heritage Knits by Martin Storey

Stunning colour combinations breathe new life into traditional colourwork patterns, along with some great cables, in this beautiful new collection of designs from Martin Storey.  He offers a wealth of projects - jackets, sweaters, cardigans, a short coat, a waistocat and a ponchom as well as two throws, a cushion and a range of accessories:  gloves, socks, scarves, a bag and a hat.

Inspired by traditional Scottish knit patterns, his designs offer a contemporary twist.  For example, he transforms the popular Argyll pattern with some really singing colour contrasts and then uses a Scottish tartan design as border, while great traditional cable patterns translate into a modern style tunic, a cropped cardigan or a great poncho.  A neat houndstooth check changes colour in blocked rows to create a stunning scarf, hat and mittens. 

Martin's great eye for colour is aided and abetted by the exquisite colour palette of some of Rowan's most beautiful pure wool yarns in a range of weights, from 4 ply for the finer colourwork to Aran for some of the cables.

Martin Storey is renowned for his truly elegant knitwear designs. He worked for trendsetting company Artwork on leaving college and since then has been a major force in Rowan Yarns, designing for their Classic Range.
